egg: Artist's Statement
"'egg' was created as a wedding gift for a friend, and the concept for the work was inspired by her wish to have children and raise a family. While working on 'egg,' I kept thinking about the significance of the egg as the point of origin, the beginning of life. An egg is just a small container holding a tiny amount of matter. But within its elegant sphere, it holds all of the hope and will of an entire species of life, and the yin and yang of our vast and wondrous universe."
